Taking action is the Most Difficult Step

In each of our organizations and in each of our personal jobs, we are being asked to do so much more with, in some cases, the same amount or fewer resources. There are days that we each stop long enough to ask ourselves “can this be accomplished?” and there are days when we feel that what we are being asked to do is impossible. This is not a new feeling for those of us in health care. Health care is exciting, rewarding, complex, complicated, demanding, and broken all at the same time. In our current environment it is becoming more complex, complicated, and demanding with the multiple changes and demands being put on our systems in order to transform the current system.

New Mexico Coalition for Healthcare Quality Receives Additional Funding, Changes Name

The Albuquerque Coalition for Healthcare Quality announced that it has received a grant of $1.2 million over the next two years from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's Aligning Forces for Quality (AF4Q) initiative to improve health care quality in the four-county area. In this next phase of funding, the coalition will continue the work already implemented in the community, including performance measurement, public reporting and consumer engagement, as well as working on improving the delivery and payment systems. Albuquerque Coalition for Healthcare Quality Receives Public Health Advocate Award from NM Public Health Association

The New Mexico Public Health Association (NMPHA) awarded the Albuquerque Coalition for Healthcare Quality the Public Health Advocate Award which recognizes an individual, agency, organization or community that has made a positive health-related change in their community. NMPHA is a private, non-profit membership association of individuals and organizations committed to promoting public health practice, policies and systems that support health equity in New Mexico. Albuquerque Coalition for Healthcare Quality Releases the Third Annual Medical Group Snapshot

The Albuquerque Coalition for Healthcare Quality released its third annual Medical Group Snapshot, an online report that shows how participating Albuquerque medical groups are performing in specific measures for diabetes care, cardiovascular care, asthma care, and screening for breast and cervical cancers. Medical Group Snapshot provided health care providers with benchmarks and information they can use to implement quality improvement initiatives. Patients and employers can use this information and the Albuquerque Coalition's overall website to learn more about quality health care in Albuquerque.
