Albuquerque Coalition for Healthcare Quality Officially Launches Aligning Forces for Quality Initiative in Albuquerque
On September 29, 2009, the Albuquerque Coalition for Healthcare Quality and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) hosted a luncheon to officially launch Aligning Forces for Quality (AF4Q) in Albuquerque. More than 100 stakeholders from across the city attended this event. Dr. Michael Painter, senior program officer with RWJF, and Dr. Bruce Siegel, director of the AF4Q national program office at George Washington University, spoke about the significance of this initiative within Albuquerque and how this work will contribute to a national effort to lift health care quality. Dr. Angela Gallegos-Macias, a local physician, and her patient, Mr. Salomon Jojola, presented their experiences with quality improvement efforts and how one clinic’s innovative diabetic group visits have benefited both physicians and their patients.
