Albuquerque Coalition Visits New Mexico Congressional Delegation in Washington, D.C.

In October 2009, Pat Montoya, project manager for the Albuquerque Coalition for Healthcare Quality, and Dr. Charles Baumgart, Chief Medical Officer with Presbyterian Health System, traveled to Washington, D.C. as part of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s Connect Visits. This meeting gives each community an opportunity to visit with their congressional delegation and inform them on local Aligning Forces for Quality (AF4Q) activities in their communities.  Ms. Montoya and Dr. Baumgart were able to meet with both U.S. Senators Jeff Bingaman and Tom Udall and Representative Martin Heinrich and their respective staffs. They spoke about the AF4Q initiative with them and the opportunity to create systemic change and improve health care quality in Albuquerque.
